CurieuCity makes its “debut” in Molenbeek! This new festival, which combines the experimental impact of art with the rigor of science, invites you to discover “the city of the future” in its first edition.

In Molenwest, explore a new public space in full evolution, the result of a collaboration between the Urban Development Company (SAU) and the municipality of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. Take part in a multitude of diverse activities offered by our partner associations, suitable for all ages and resonating with the needs of the neighborhood.

800 meters away, join us at Park Ouest, in the emerging park between Beekkant and Osseghem, where Brussels Environment and Toestand vzw are beginning a development process. This place promises to be a green space open to all, dedicated to sports, games, and relaxation. Let’s explore the challenges and countless possibilities of this park and create the ideal place for the life of this evolving neighborhood.

CurieuCity offers you a unique experience, as captivating for the young as it is for the elder. Through various artistic works and encounters with scientists, you will discover how science can arouse curiosity, wonder, and inspiration to shape the world around us.

“Hyperdiverse Society”

In our current world, boundaries are not just lines drawn on a map or physical barriers. They extend far beyond to include complex notions such as belonging, identity, and even imagination.

CurieuCity plunges us into the heart of this multifaceted reality. Adopting a dynamic educational approach, the goal is to demystify preconceived ideas about asylum and migration issues. Drawing on academic knowledge and encouraging active participation through games and creative workshops, CurieuCity seeks to nourish minds and stimulate reflection.

These initiatives reflect the diversity and richness of our society. By exploring these themes, CurieuCity aspires to a better understanding of contemporary challenges and the construction of a more inclusive and supportive future.

“Urban Agriculture”

CurieuCity invites you through its activities to reflect on urban production methods and sustainable consumption. Today, nearly half of humanity lives in cities, putting food systems under pressure.

Yet, solutions exist to address this urban demographic pressure, and cities appear as transition spaces. Faced with the climate emergency and the impact generated by the agri-food system, numerous sustainable models are conceivable.

But how do we make this urban transition happen? Can we change our eating habits, rethink how we produce and consume? In other words, what will the face of urban food be tomorrow?

Come and discover our workshops, walks, and our artistic-scientific exhibition on the future of urban food.

“Urbanism & Smart Cities”

Urban planning is the art and science of designing and organizing urban spaces. This encompasses the planning and management of cities to create functional, aesthetic, and sustainable environments.

CurieuCity invites you into the exciting world of smart cities, where technology and innovation serve citizens. Discover how technological advancements are transforming our cities, improving our quality of life, and promoting transparent and participatory governance.

But that’s not all! In a smart city, citizens play a key role. Participatory governance is a model that encourages active involvement of residents in decision-making processes and public affairs management. How? By using digital platforms and interactive tools, citizens can express their opinions, propose ideas, and contribute to shaping the future of their city.

“Circular Economy”

The circular economy is an innovative economic model that aims to optimize resource use while reducing waste and emissions.

CurieuCity showcases scientific solutions based on the design of durable and easily recyclable products, as well as the implementation of closed-loop systems where waste from one process becomes the raw material for another.

CurieuCity, through its proposal of artistic performances, raises awareness of the challenges related to environmental preservation while stimulating innovation and economic growth.
